Visiting University of Tuscia (Italy) and Technical University of Lisbon in the frames of MENVIPRO

On April 1-2, 2019 the Nello Lupori experimental farm to University of Tuscia (Italy) launched a training course in the frames of MENVIPRO Program. After a welcoming address of Prof. Niccolo Merendone, the Program coordinator, Andrey Girenko reported about requirements to SWOT analysis and stages to be implemented by Armenia and Georgia. Then the Armenian delegation made a presentation on specificities of ISEC of NAS RA activities, accreditation procedure in Armenia, CENS structure, departments and teaching and research expertise. Presentation of partners from Georgia was about Georgia’s Universities and experience in accreditation. At the end of the meeting European colleagues presented the courses they delivered. A special emphasis was placed on concordance between the subjects taught and those being currently modernized or newly developed. The meeting was continued on April 3-5 in Technical University of Lisbon, where Fernando Carvalio spoke about the achievements of Portugal in radioactivity control and measurements which could be used by partners in the courses to be developed and deliver. Then the meeting discussed administrative and organizational issues in order make further activities and their management more effective. The discussion was followed by presentations on the structure of MS courses on engineering geology and utilization of mines, human biology and the environment, procedures for credit distribution, practice and implementation of MS theses. In the frames of the meeting participants visited the nature protection, radioactivity and radiological safety laboratory to the Technical University of Lisbon, where they familiarized themselves with gamma and alfa spectrometry, liquid scintillation counting methods and state-of-the-art devices.
